If you lose the device your Zucoins Wallet was installed on, you can regain access to your Zucoins by restoring your wallet from a backup onto a new device. Because the wallet is self-managed and stored locally, this backup is the only way to bring your wallet data across.
Before You Begin
A current backup file of your lost wallet
A new device on which to install Zucoins Wallet
Step-by-Step Instructions
Install or open the Zucoins Wallet on your new device.
Tap the Settings (cog) icon.
Select Restore Wallet.
Locate and select your wallet backup file.
Complete the restore process.
If you use Zutopia, reconnect your wallet by completing the wallet verification process again.
Important Notes
If you do not have a backup of your lost wallet, Zucoins has not published a recovery method that does not rely on a backup file. This is why Zucoins recommends backing up your wallet as soon as it's created.
A Zucoins community testimonial published by the company describes a user restoring their wallet successfully onto a new iPhone using their backup, confirming this restore path works across devices.
